Weather changes welcomed the the Imola Classic back in the 2018 calendar, we had heavy rain, sun, beautiful sunsets and even a rainbow. This year there are six categories involved; Classic Endurance Racing, with endurance cars from 1966 to 1981, the Euro2 Classic, introduced last year, featuring Formula 2 from the years ’67 to ’78, the Group C Racing, with the spectacular cars of the history of Le Mans from 1982 to 1993, the Heritage Touring Group, ETCC cars from ’66 to ’84, the Sixties’ Endurance, pre-1963 sports cars and pre-1966 GTs, and finally the Nastro Rosso Trophy, reserved for Italian brand Sport and GT cars of the late 1950s until 1965.

There are few events in Europe that can bring together this many historic race cars in one place, Peter Auto continues to make possible for motorsport enthusiasts to see and hear this engineering masterpieces……

…..like the Porsche 917, one of the most iconic racecars ever built, capable to give the first overall win at the 24 Hours of Le Mans for Porsche.

Walking in the paddock was like using a motorsport time machine, you could be in the Group C era and a moment later you are back in the sixties

The rain was pouring down and the Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari was pretty wet, then the sun finally came out and an incredible atmosphere covered the track creating the perfect scenario for the end of Imola Classic

It was an amazing weekend in Imola, the last in the Peter Auto’s calendar. We are sure next year will be even better.
