Launched in 2006, the GT4 category is now one of the most successfull series in the world. Less expensive than GT3 series, GT4 cars are the perfect start for amateur drivers, also a lot of manufacturers are involved due to relatively low costs. The series started as national championship in Germany and Holland, now, 12 years later, we have GT4 based cars racing even in Asia.
Like GT3, GT4 drivers and teams are divided by a criteria based on their racing experience and license, Gold, Silver and Bronze. In the Silver category only Silver drivers are allowed. In the Pro-Am category Bronze-Gold and Bronze-Silver are the only pairings permitted. The Am category is dedicated for Bronze drivers only.
Almost every car manufacturer has a GT4 based racecar, as a matter of fact in the European Series we have Audi, Mercedes, Aston Martin, McLaren, Maserati, BMW, Porsche, Ginetta, KTM, Sin Cars
and Chevrolet. Other manufacturers will join the series in the future.
On track, with the Balance of Performance (BoP) and GT4 cars peculiarity, driver’s skills are the key of success, always leading to unpredictable races.
